2024 Exhibition of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Masterpieces

On March 7th, the “Exhibition of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Masterpieces” was grandly held at the Chiquet Professional Art Gallery in Chester County, Pennsylvania. This event was jointly organized by the International Chinese Arts Society of Americas and the Chester County Art Association. The attendees included Pennsylvania Senator Christine (Tina) Tartaglione, the current Chester County Commissioners Josh Maxwell (Chief Commissioner), Marian D. Moskowitz (Vice Chair), and Eric M. Roe, Narasimha B. Shenoy (Chairman of the Pan Asia Association of Greater Philadelphia and Chairman of the Board of AACCGP), Sharon Hartz (former Chairman of the Korea America Association of Greater Philadelphia), and Chinese community leaders such as Zhu Feng (Chairman of the Pennsylvania Chinese Federation and President of the Philadelphia Chinese Restaurant Association), along with Huang Liqing, Meng Hong, Hu Huixia, Wang Yuming, photographer Xiao Yan, Hong Yuebing, Wang Shengming, Steve, and over 200 other guests and friends. The event featured calligraphy performances and artistic shows, captivating and impressing the audience.

Sue Cheng, Chairwoman of the International Chinese Arts Society of Americas, expressed her gratitude for the cooperation with the Chester County Art Association, represented by the Honorary Chairman John Baker, which provided a spacious and professional venue for the exhibition. She thanked the artists for their participation and support and introduced them to the guests. Special thanks were also given to the Vice Chairman and Secretary-General, Mr. Zhu Liye, and the curator, Ms. Chen Xiaoyuan, for their hard work in organizing, curating, and setting up the exhibition. Nearly a hundred pieces of calligraphy and painting works by nearly 50 artists from both China and abroad were displayed, hoping to promote cultural and artistic exchange and integration between China and the U.S.

John Baker, Chairman of the Chester County Art Association, remarked on the significance of hosting this East-West joint exhibition, aiming to enrich the public with diverse cultural experiences. He welcomed more people from various sectors to visit, learn, and exchange ideas.

During the opening ceremony, Chairwoman Sue Cheng awarded Ms. Song Feihong the “Outstanding Cultural Envoy” award for her contributions to promoting cultural exchange between China and the U.S. and preserving Chinese culture. Additionally, young calligrapher Ms. Xiao Wen was introduced; she had been invited to become a special calligrapher for the Disney FX series “Shogun”, responsible for calligraphy for the series and related media. She also gifted calligraphy works to guests as New Year blessings. Calligrapher Mr. Huang Guoneng presented a calligraphy work of “Chester County Art Association” in Chinese to the partner organization. Artist Ms. Song Feihong performed Beijing opera while writing the character “福” (fortune), earning applause and cheers from the audience.

The exhibition ran from March 7th to March 29th and featured artists including Cai Chenlin, Chen Yuying, Chen Fahui, Dong Shurong, Fang Shoujiu, Gu Wenteng, Gao Li, Guo Yong, Huang Guoneng, He Lishan, Gong Shujun, Jin Fengshi, Jing Weiping, Luo Meifu, Lin Jinqian, Li Biyun, Li Zhenyang, Ning Baocheng, Ran Zhengxin, Sun Zhian, Sun Xinfen, Tan Lin, Wang Xiaoxu, Wang Baoxiang, Wang Zongzhou, Wang Lanzhi, Wang Zehong, Wu Xueqin, Xu Shu, Xue Qiuju, Xiao Wen, Xiao Xingrong, Xu Jingkun, Yan Jun, Yang Xinbai, Yao Qingying, Yan Zhongkai, Zhu Liye, Zhang Rongfa, Zhang Bingfeng, Zhang Cong, Zhang Runyu, Zhang Benbiao, Zhang Guomin, Zhang Guangyu, and others.
